Natalie Zemon Davis - Decentering History
In this lecture, held at CEU Medieval Studies Department in 2010, Prof. Zemon Davis describes the expansion of historical writing to include the study of working people and other non-elite populations and women and to move beyond a focus on Europe or the West. Natalie Zemon Davis is a professor of History at the University of Toronto, and a recipient of the National Humanities medal; her vast repertoire of work originally centered around late medieval France, but has been widened in scope to include the Mediterranean, the Arab world, and even the Caribbean.
